This is the product I reach for in clinic every single day.
Trauma Gel is a rich, fast-absorbing herbal gel-cream developed from my years of practice as a Chinese medicine herbalist, acupuncturist and bodyworker.
At its heart is a slow-infused extract of 23 traditional Chinese herbs, each selected for their classical action on pain, blood movement, inflammation and tissue repair — among them San Qi (Panax notoginseng), Hong Hua (Carthamus tinctorius), Ru Xiang (Boswellia carterii), Mo Yao (Commiphora myrrha) and Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis) to move blood and ease pain; Du Zhong Cao (Siegesbeckia orientalis), Xu Duan (Dipsacus asper) and Niu Xi (Achyranthes bidentata) to nourish tendons and strengthen sinew; and Pu Gong Ying (Taraxacum mongolicum), Huang Bai (Phellodendron amurense) and Huang Qin (Scutellaria baicalensis) to clear heat and reduce inflammation.
These herbs are slow-infused into a base of fractionated coconut oil, jojoba and shea butter, then blended with lavender, camphor and clove essential oils to create something that genuinely works at depth. The formula is enhanced with DMSO — a remarkable penetration enhancer that carries the herbal actives deep into the tissues where they're needed most — and finished with evening primrose oil and vitamin E to nourish and protect the skin throughout.
It feels different to anything you'll find on a pharmacy shelf. Cooling and warming at once, deeply penetrating, and grounding in the way that only plant medicine can be.
It sits on the skin with intention — gently occlusive, it holds warmth in the tissues and keeps the channels open, allowing the herbal actives to continue working long after application. This is part of the medicine.
Use it on tired, aching or injured muscles, stiff joints, tendon and ligament strain, post-exercise soreness, neck and shoulder tension, or chronic pain that just won't shift. Suitable for daily use, applied two to three times a day to the affected area.
Formulated in clinical practice, refined through professional cosmetic formulation training, and made by hand in small batches in mid-Devon. Shelf life 18 months.
