Moxibustion involves the focused application of warmth on the body by burning natural compressed mugwort leaf (Folium Artemisiae Argyi). Moxibustion is commonly given in two ways - by lighting moxa portions, and using the heat to warm acupuncture points by placing them on the end of the needles, or by lighting moxa cones that are placed onto the skin directly onto acupuncture points.
In both cases, the warmth and energetic properties of the mugwort leaf is used to improve circulation, warm and relax tense muscles, relieve pain and promote relaxation and wellbeing.
Acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain can be enhanced quickly and effectively using an electro-acupuncture unit (similar to a tens machine) attached to certain needle pairs on the body.
Complimentary where needed in any session to help with stress, grief and physical pain.
Ear seeds apply pressure on specific pressure points, or acu-points, on the ear, the same way that acupuncture needles stimulate healing at acu-points on the body.
Used to treat the whole body or support an acupuncture treatment. Can be left in place for up to 1 week.
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves that pass through the structures of the body and bounce off harder structures such as bone, tendons and ligaments. As the sound-waves connect with these tissues, they warm them, naturally increasing bood-flow and thus increasing healing potential.
Complementary in any session where needed to treat tendons, ligaments, scar tissue or help new bone fractures heal.
